The film follows three different stories by young directors of each of the three countries, exploring the secrets and dilemmas as seen from the eyes of its foreigners: Licínio, an angolan in Rio; Inês, a portuguese in Luanda; and Paula, a brasilian in Lisbon.

In Southern Portugal there’s a land of rare natural beauty set on one of the last untouched coastlines in Europe. This is the set for a unique race in the world, 43 km on sandy beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. The film follows eight athletes of different origins and conditions, talking about what they think of while running to the limit, and what racing means for each of them.

The first short of our 5-Mar session will be Umukulu, an Angolan short by a theatre troupe done in the style of the old silent films. Umukulu tells the story of elders increasingly being seen as a burden by their relatives.
